    For Fulvio Sardelli Jr., opening the Tipsy Boar is like coming full circle in his cooking career. Sardelli started in kitchens as a child at his family's restaurant, Franco's Pizzeria in Davie, which moved and became Fulvio's 1900 – a still-standing institution in downtown Hollywood. While the food at his parents' joints (they opened a second restaurant, the upscale, beachfront Sardelli's, in 2012) has gotten fancier over the years, Fulvio Jr. wanted to open a gastropub-style restaurant where he could drink beer, watch sports, and find the deep-fried food he likes to eat after a long shift. He enlisted the help of Michael Blum – a once-hot Hollywood chef who ran Michael's Kitchen before fleeing to Palm Beach Gardens, then going off the radar for a few years – to create a menu that goes well beyond French fries and chicken wings. A Reuben spring roll comes with corned beef twisted inside a wrapper and fried until crispy. Lobster corn dogs are filled with generous chunks of sweet lobster meat.
