This 20-plus-year-old Pompano Beach dive bar doubles as a neighborhood topless strip club. Patrons hang around the square central bar watching overhead televisions or chatting with the gals. Across the room, there's a stage with two poles next to a private area, where full friction dances are offered. The DJ spins a wide range of music, from classic rock to hip-hop. Porthole opens at noon Monday through Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sundays and closes at 4 a.m. Happy-hour specials run from open until 10 p.m. Read more about this Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach bar or club >>

http://www.singerskaraoke.com Located in a non-descript strip mall in Pompano Beach, Singers is a karaoke dive bar that lets you unleash your inner rockstar. Test run the club with a one day $5 membership, or pay the lifetime membership fee of $30 to sing your heart out six nights a week. Unlike going to a devoted karaoke night at other bars, Singers allows each participant to perform two songs in a row each turn. Most weekends, you won't wait longer than an hour to sing. With a happy hour that runs from 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. every karaoke night, you can perform a few booze soaked renditions of your favorite tunes without breaking the bank. http://www.facebook.com/pages/StarLite-Lounge/111463625561162?fref=ts The Starlite Lounge is hidden in a Pompano strip mall, behind a bank and a Super 8, parked between a laundromat and an antiques store. Stepping through the door, though, is like walking into a dark, wonderful warp zone that combines all the comfort (and pricing) of a bar in 1970s South Florida with all the toys of today. Inside, you'll find clean pool tables, dartboards, shuffleboard, a Wii that begs to be played, a collection of flat-screens tuned to local sports, weekly live music, and a jukebox full of classics. The drinks are cheap and stiff, the colorful cast of regulars is warm and welcoming, and the small team of bartenders is attentive and accommodating. It's easy to miss, but once you've been, it's hard to forget. Read more about this Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach bar or club >>
http://www.yakzies.com/pompano.html Adorning the outside of Yak-Zies are paintings of iconic musical characters from throughout the 20th Century. On one wall, John Lennon stands between Hendrix and Dylan, and right around the corner, Elvis stares with dreamy eyes. Above the mural reads, "If you don't eat here, we both starve." This little phrase is the first indicator that the Pompano bar itself is quite a character, and that realization deepens as one begins hanging out inside. The inner walls are dedicated to the Three Stooges, Norman Rockwell, and other classics, while in between them is Don the barkeep, who's been there for close to two decades. Don will happily boast of the men's room door, which features the perfect image of a vagina. Kind of like the face of Jesus in the grilled cheese sandwich, but Yak-Zies style.
