Propaganda

Propaganda

Lake Worth's indie-music hot spot, Propaganda has the monopoly on good local, original music most nights of the week. If a local band hasn't played the spot, it won't be long.
B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

Catch live blues, rock, reggae, funk, and other acts at this CityPlace venue, where the menu is as soulful as the music. Prices are moderate, though for a few acts, there's a cover charge and limited seating, especially when B.B. and Lucille show up.

  • Tapas & Tintos

    Tapas & Tintos

448 Espanola Way Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-538-8272

http://www.tapasytintos.com The original Tapas & Tintos still holds ground as one of the most popular spots catering to locals as well as the heavy tourist traffic on Española Way. This charming barcito serves giant pitchers of homemade sangria and offers an immense menu of small plates that capitalize on traditional Spanish flavors. A tasty trio of croquetas ($6.50) includes spinach, potato, and a wonderfully salty cod version. Meaty boquerones ($8.75) are plentiful on the plate -- no skinny white anchovies here. From squid to mussels to scallops, get your seafood double-stuffed with a creamy mix of more seafood that is baked until bubbly and golden ($10.50 to $11.95). Try the dedos del diablo langostinos ($13.75), a delicious signature dish of butterflied jumbo shrimp filled with Serrano ham and goat cheese, covered in breadcrumbs, and deep-fried to golden perfection. Meat lovers will rejoice in a classic parrillada de carnes ($23.95), a generously sized platter of charbroiled pork loin, skirt steak, chorizo, and chicken. A basic seafood paella ($36.95) can be revved up with the addition of lobster ($58.95). More adventuresome types might want to order the arroz negro, paella blackened with squid ink ($38.45). Take tango lessons Monday nights, or watch professional flamenco dancers Wednesdays and Saturdays. Read more about Tapas & Tintos >>

    Twist

1057 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-538-9478

http://www.twistsobe.com A mainstay on Washington Avenue for over 15 years, Twist is the mother hen of South Beach gay clubs. Inside the spacious club you'll find seven different bars; a tiki bar, something called a "Frolic Lounge," a salsa room in the bottom floor, and a house music dance floor at the top. Still one of the few places where you can find go-go dancers at midnight on the beach, Twist is open seven days a week from 1 p.m. to 5 a.m. It's conveniently located near the popular 12th street gay beach, and the 11th street diner where Will Smith's "Miami" was shot. No cover, and open to 21+ only. Read more about Twist >>

  • Wall Lounge

    Wall Lounge

2201 Collins Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-938-3131

http://www.wallmiami.com The entrance to Wall Lounge is located right outside the garden at the W Hotel on South Beach. Design elements include light shows on the walls, frosted glass doors in the bathrooms, and high ceilings. There's not much of a dance floor, but it's called a lounge for a reason. It is so small it does not merit a VIP: It is the VIP. Jessica Alba, Gabrielle Union, the All American Rejects, Erykah Badu, Swizz Beatz, Jamie Foxx, Jason Binn, and Selita Ebanks are just a few of the celebrities who have walked through WALL's infamous doors. Other guest sightings have been rumored, but unless the press snaps a picture, they're almost impossible to confirm. Read more about Wall Lounge >>
