    Joseph's Classic Market

5250 Town Center Cir Boca Raton, FL 33486
    561-347-2314

http://www.josephsclassicmarket.com With its tidy floors, artfully arranged produce displays, and shelves stocked with products lined perfectly shoulder to shoulder, Joseph's Classic Market – part of a small chain of three – is as neat as a pin. Stalk the aisles and find potted herbs, tables of baked goods (babka, fruit breads, cookies), a display case filled with row after row of cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, and cannoli, seafood, meats, and packaged foods from Italy and beyond. Wander the perimeter and as you pass the deli section, you might overhear a cook with a thick New York accent chastising an underling for offering to microwave a customer’s sandwich: “You’re gonna ruin the food I just made?” Don’t be put off by the outwardly Boca vibe – the selection of prepared foods is worth sidestepping any oncoming Jaguars in the parking lot. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Living-Green-Fresh-Market/458044370923350 We all want to eat healthy, but Whole Foods-esque prices can keep us hooked on McDonald's. Lucky for Oakland Park, there's Living Green Fresh Market, a fresh, environmentally friendly alternative to other expensive outposts. Here, you can score delightful produce of all kinds (much of it locally sourced) for prices you have to see to believe. 29 cents a pound for bananas? 59 cents a pound for beets? Two baskets of strawberries for $1.99? Seriously. Not to mention you can make a stop at their newly added juice bar. It's your one-stop green shop. More >>

  • Penn Dutch Food Center

    Penn Dutch Food Center

    3201 N. State Road 7 Margate, FL 33063
    954-974-3900

http://www.penn-dutch.com Though the Hollywood locale is stocked with tons of goodies, try the larger Margate branch of Penn Dutch, where you’ll have more space to navigate the aisles and fill your cart with a mix of wines, cheeses, produce, and gourmet items. The meat and seafood sections are particular strong points for this market. The crowd – which flocks for reasonable everyday prices and weekly specials – means checkout can take a spell; arrive early in the morning or late in the day to avoid peak shopping hours. More >>

http://www.tealicioustearoom.com Patrons of TeaLicious will find themselves in a perfect re-creation of a posh English parlor, free to reenact their favorite scene from a Jane Austen novel. Surrounded by porcelain and silver, vases of roses, and pastries piled three tiers high, diners can choose from a simple repast of tea and scone or a lavish spread of croquettes and finger sandwiches. Brits wouldn't consider getting through the day without stopping for a cuppa, and frankly neither should you. So reread a few chapters of Northanger Abbey, find something floral and flowy to wear, and treat yourself to the great Chinese/Japanese/Indian/British tradition that is tea in this Delray Beach shop. • Teas, Etc.

480 Tall Pines Road West Palm Beach, FL 33413
    561-683-6838

http://www.teasetc.com Teas, Etc. is a teahouse only in the purest sense of the term. Nobody is going to offer you watercress sammies and petits fours here. There will be no leisurely afternoons t?te-à-t?te over a pot of Earl Grey. What Teas, Etc. does is sell tea — lots and lots of tea, with the fanatical devotion to regional variation and the rarest finds you'd expect from a wine seller or a gourmet cheese shop. Owner Beth Johnston threw over a lucrative career in mental health a couple of years ago to pursue her tea passions with a wonderful single-mindedness. She scours Asia in search of organic pinhead gunpowder from China and Japanese gen mai cha mixed with puffed rice and popcorn. She has carried back Tung Ting from Taiwan (a sweet jade oolong) and pu'erh tuo-cha (a tiny compressed bird's nest that unravels in your tea glass and lowers your cholesterol while you drink it) along with hundreds of other varieties of white, herbal, black, and rooibos teas, as well as beautiful teapots, Chinese wedding baskets, and drinking accessories. The West Palm Beach store keeps willfully odd hours: Your chances of catching somebody there are about 50/50, so call ahead before visiting. You can also peruse their website and call in your order for pickup. Teas run anywhere from $15 to $50 per eight ounces and come with exact brewing instructions for a perfect cuppa. More >>
