http://www.nativeflorida.net There's no sign outside alerting you to this Hollywood music venue and fine brew hot spot. But somehow you'll find your way into the Native Florida Tap Room and Music Hall. The venue is owned by Carl "Kilmo" Pacillo, whose beloved venue Alligator Alley closed in 2009. Since its doors opened, Native Florida Tap Room has booked a solid lineup of musical acts, featuring blues, rock, jazz, punk, funk, and folk, both by locals and out-of-towners. The comfortable bar sports an impressive array of microbrews, craft beers, and cider, both bottled and with 18 options on tap. Don't forget your cash, shirt, and shoes. These are required. Oh, and your taste for live music. More >>
South Beach proletariat come to Nerve to escape the neon hue of Art Deco. Antique erotic lithographs adorn the restroom stalls of the spunky joint opened by never-nervous Rudolf Piper. He cloaks the laid-back lounge with Manhattan audacity -- most notably the Coyote Ugly-inspired bartenders. More >>
http://www.nws.edu The sleek, stunning stylings of the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center could almost overshadow the sounds of its inhabitants. Almost. But Miami Beach's kings (and queens) of classical music manage to do their digs justice. Here you can listen in on some of the nation's most outstanding young musicians before they move on to even bigger things. With more than 60 annual performances (many of them free), the New World Symphony is impressively prolific. There's also an on-site Soundscape, where films and performances are screened on a 7,000 foot outdoor projection wall while attendees lounge on the lawn, drinking wine and nibbling at cheese. Plus, they host post-performance parties that are a little more action-packed than the earlier affairs. All in all, impressive is an understatement. More >>
http://www.nikkibeach.com Even with a chunk of its beachside scaled back by the city, the St. Tropez-style, open-air party continues to draw high-enders en masse. Sunday nights here are exactly what they appear on the E!s Wild On series. More >>
