    http://www.newrivergroves.com New River Groves is a five-acre citrus grove, a fudge factory, a mega-fruit stand, and a mecca for what many consider to be the best key lime pie around. Bob and Terry Roth opened the Davie stand in 1963, primarily as a means of selling their oranges and grapefruits. But that modest goal changed years ago when Terry started turning the groves' excess key limes into graham cracker-crusted, whipped cream-topped key lime pies. The pies were an immediate success, and nowadays the Roths sell 20,000 a year -- 2,500 on the day before Thanksgiving alone. Locals, tourists, and celebrities flock to New River for the creamy, slightly tart pies. That shouldn't be a surprise considering that the family who owns it has been open for business on this same spot for over forty years. While the rest of Miami Dade County was joining the farmer's market bandwagon, Southwest Miami residents already had the real deal. If you want natural, organic, or just plain hard to find foods, you will get what you need at Normans. The homecooked meals have no trans fats and are made from locally grown "fresh Florida fruits and vegetables." One of the great things about this legendary market is the fact that it offers quite a varied menu. You can have Italian sausage with Cavatapi pasta ($9.99) one day, and Cuban roasted pork ($11.99) the next. Normans' infamous side dishes vary by day, but can include red skinned mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, brown or wild rice, oriental green beans, and the list goes on and on. Sides can also be taken home ($5.99/lb). The meals are delicious, but so are the sandwiches. Try the lobster sensation ($7.99), a savory lobster surprise on a roll, for a lunch love affair.
