Let’s be real. You can find a reggae show in Palm Beach County just by closing your eyes, spinning around, and pointing arbitrarily in any direction. The sheer volume of these bands has made every showgoer a master of the reggae lean. It’s also made for some discerning listening palettes; everyone ’ere knows the way to sonic Zion. Propaganda has proven itself the premiere place to get some irie reggae action in Lake Worth, no problem, and its Summer Daze series has emerged as the favorite child. And for a county so in tune with what makes good in this genre, you know that day three — the final of this season — of Summer Daze is going to have the crème de la crème of dreadlock Rasta tunes. Expect a special blend of locals, national headliners, and South Florida’s finest cultural offerings. That means a bathing-suit fashion show; i.e., girls in bikinis will model the wares of indieSWIM, rounding out the quintessential beach-party vibe. At this final installment, venue owners Matt Krug and Jon Jordan have tugged on every musical feather in their varied cap. Every local favorite gets solid stage time, including Future Prezidents, Bushwood, Seagrape Souljahs, and Spred the Dub. And that is just a fraction of the area’s strongest representing. Headlining the main stage is a bona fide reggae triple threat: the Expanders, New Kingston (the touring band for Collie Buddz), and Tribal Seeds. It’s this mix of our favorite Marley-influenced acts that opens the fest up to the bigger audience it deserves. Big tings, mon, big tings.
