Falling In Reverse

Falling In Reverse

Ashley Zimmerman

A lot of fans were thrilled out of their minds when bassist Max Green decided to team back up with former Escape the Fate bandmate Ronnie Radke and join Falling In Reverse. The reunion is very recent and only took place this past May. Green says the guys are having a "phenomenal" time on the twentieth anniversary Warped Tour. "Just yesterday, there were a couple of kids in wheelchairs who were crowd surfing during our set, which was pretty rad," Green notes, siting an example of this good fun and wild times. Not only has the band enjoyed being on the tour, the tour organizers have appreciated having the band along too. "Just last night, there was a surprise party for the twentieth anniversary of Warped Tour," and apparently, he says founder Kevin Lyman "had a cake made, and he put Falling In Reverse on the cake." The dessert not only had the band's name written on it but had little miniature figurines of the guys too. "It was crazy. Coming to Warped Tour as a kid and seeing all your favorite bands. Now we're here playing and we're on the damn twentieth anniversary cake of all things. It was really cool." When asked what the transition was like from band to band, he admitted that it was pretty simple. "I mean, Ronnie and I went to high school together, and we've known each other since I was 14 and he was 15," he explained. It was during the Bury the Hatchet tour which featured both Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse where longtime friends and former bandmates Radke and Green reconnected and the bassist became close with the rest of the group. "I hung out with Ronnie a lot on that tour," he says, "and got to know his guys and actually exchanged phone numbers and kept in contact on a regular basis." Green revealed that the band won't be playing any of their newest songs this tour since they're still in the process of finishing up an album. The setlist consists of staples from its previous albums, The Drug in Me Is You and Fashionably Late. He's stoked about the new work though and feels that when the album is released, it'll be a huge hit. "I think people will be very impressed when they hear the songs that we're coming up with. They're really phenomenal, and I'm a huge critic of myself and of my peers and stuff like that, but it's just really an album to watch out for." He also assured the album will definitely have that signature Falling In Reverse sound. "The difference between The Drug in Me Is You and Fashionably Late, it was still a Falling In Reverse sound, but it was the next evolution, the next step. This one is definitely like that as well." With Warped so stoked on the band and Green in their midst, it'll be worth catching Falling In Reverse this week in West Palm Beach.
