"For some reason, the cool bars in Hollywood have to be hard to find and have no sign," Jon Favreau's character said in the movie Swingers. Thankfully, the address for 1921 is also the name. It's on Federal Highway south of 17th Street. The only catch is that the entrance is through the alley around back. When you do find it, you'll be surprised by decor that, though it would be just as at home in Tony Montana's place, doesn't seem out of place in Fort Lauderdale's latest, greatest indie rock dance club. Go through to the back room to see live music and join in on the dance floor after the show. The stage lights are set back so everyone in the front of the crowd can feel like they're on stage. 1921 is only open for events, and the bar is cash only.
