Bova Prime

401 E. Las Olas Blvd.
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
954-765-1131
Website
Tony and Laurie Bova, the pair responsible for the superlative Bova in Boca, have teamed up with partners to bring the Bova brand to Lauderdale, serving a nearly identical menu of Nuevo Italian specialties based on the grill with the addition of dry-aged steaks and real Kobe beef imported from Japan. Under the aegis of superchef Toby Joseph, formerly of Cero at the St. Regis, the plan is a winner, although the reason you’ll spot so many high rollers at Bova Prime is that such luxe doesn’t come cheap. Still, it’s worth shelling out for sigh-inducingly decadent baby grilled artichokes with lemon and rosemary or snapper so fresh-tasting that you’d swear the Atlantic Ocean ran right through Bova’s kitchens. One thing you can say for rich Republican lawyers is that they appreciate good food; for as long as we can afford it, the rest of us can hang on for the ride. - Gail Shepherd
