A joint venture between South Florida restaurant pioneers Dennis Max and Burt Rapoport, Burt & Max’s, in west Delray Beach, blends some old favorites with new trends. Some classic dishes from Max and Rapoport’s other establishments can be found on the menu, such as the famous Max’s chopped salads and Rapoport’s health-conscious “Eat well. Be well.” menu. New items focus on sourcing clean, fresh flavors -- by sourcing local produce, when possible -- such as the Mediterranean Branzino “A la Plancha” with sauteed spinach and an heirloom tomato emulsion, or the farmhouse heirloom tomato and local burrata. The urban-rustic decor filled with reclaimed wood, copper, edison lights, and outdoor lounge and firepit only add to the simple, farmhouse-style fare.
