Entering Freddie's Anchor feels like getting onboard a tugboat. Life preservers decorate the outside, and the nautical theme continues inside, where the lights go dim and the foggy air fills with sounds of cue-ball clacks and locals bitching about something. It's a neighborhood bar that feels as close to the middle of nowhere as you can get in east Lauderdale; it's located next to a giant graveyard and a Hess station. Freddie's is nothing fancy, but the space is big enough to hide away or come in with a party of ten. Plus, it has great chicken wings.
