This tropical, tiki-style outdoor restaurant overlooks the water in Jupiter and so draws tourists and locals for entertainment and drinks. The food and service take a back seat to the lively atmosphere, especially on weekends in season. But it's crazy popular, with two- and three-hour waits for dining tables. (Tip: If you're bent on eating here, do lunch.) Guanabanas is easy to miss if you're not looking for it; parking is slim in its lot, so most park across the street at an abandoned restaurant and cross A1A at the designated crosswalk. After waiting at the bar (don't imbibe too much -- Jupiter police are forever cruising this area), share some appetizers -- the Bahamian conch chowder is noteworthy, as are the conch fritters. A slew of Mexican fare is on the menu as well -- quesadillas, tacos, and blackened fish burritos. Dinners are slightly higher -- tequila-lime shrimp or chicken, fried shrimp, fish of the day. Jumbo lump crab cakes are a good bet, but steaks, chops, and chicken as well as a burger section are there for landlubbers. On "Big Wednesdays," the place offers live entertainment and drink specials.
