Ilios, a Mediterranean-themed restaurant on the sixth floor of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach, offers tapas-style dishes designed for sharing. The room is filled with nautical flourishes, with a relief of golden-hued waves that stretches across the south wall. A circular, backlit bar surrounded by bamboo and ocean-misted glass doors leads to the poolside patio. (Just ignore the commotion of the hotel's workout room, strangely located next door.) The dishes feature local ingredients like Key West pink shrimp, Gulf Coast grouper, and produce from Swank Farms. But the results vary. Small plates like pink shrimp ceviche and tuna sashimi with watermelon fail to impress, but hot dishes of pan-seared scallops, grouper, and snapper are perfectly cooked, if lightly seasoned. The wine list is decent but a might bit overpriced, with bottles costing $40 to $150.
