Having previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants, chef Joseph Parsons (Jo-Jo) employs some serious skill on a casual type of cuisine: the humble taco. Everything on JoJo's tacos menu, in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, is made in-house, from breaded octopus tacos to a flash-fried rock shrimp taco served with celery, blue cheese, Buffalo sauce, and crema. Stray from the tacos for the frito pie, served with a choice of protein, cheese, and salsa in an individual cast-iron pan. Order a slew of salsas for experimentation, from the salsa verde to the superhot sauce made with ghost chilies (it’s not on the menu; you have to ask for it -- and a little goes a long way).
