Lime Fresh Mexican Grill

601 SW 145th Ter
Miramar, FL 33027
954-436-4700
Website
This Miami-based chain serves fresh, fast eats, though it never strays too far from the Mexican grill norm. Its menu consists of a myriad of quesadillas, burritos, and tacos, appetizers like nachos and flautas, fresh soups, and health-oriented salads. That’s a fair amount of dishes, but the numbers are padded by the fact that each item is simply a variation of the dozen or so main ingredients. Burritos are the biggest draw, like the Big Cali with beans, cheese, sour cream, rice, and an option of chicken, picadillo-like ground beef, grilled steak, or fish, or the veggie, filled with peppers and onions. You’ll also find fajitas served with the usual accompaniment of fajita fixings and tacos made with either hard corn, soft flour, or whole wheat tortillas (the later can be subbed in on any dish for a small cost). There are six salsas as well, from the typical rojo and verde style to the original and unusual-tasting sauve, a blend of puréed tomatoes, chipotle, onion, and (the chef's secret ingredient) crushed tortilla chips sautéed in olive oil. Sure, you can get better Mex at a number of places across South Florida, but the quality of the ingredients coupled with low prices makes Lime an attractive option for a quick lunch or dinner. - John Linn
