Slow-smoked pork and ribs are the hallmark of Sheila's BBQ, Conch, and More, a bright-yellow 'cue and seafood shack at 12th Avenue and Dixie Highway in Lake Worth. The place is little more than a single-room kitchen with a takeout window and a barrel smoker parked out back. The tiny yellow building is completely ensconced in the scent of wood smoke. Out front is a takeout window and a modest outdoor seating area composed of about five benches and a few stone planters decorated with fishing nets and wooden signs pointing toward Nassau and Key West. Try the chopped pork sandwich, overflowing with hunks of pink-tinged meat and the peppery-sweet sauce that Sheila's makes in house. Or grab some conch, which Sheila's does fried with a side sweet mustard sauce, as doughy fritters, or in a spicy lime-marinated salad made with Scotch bonnet peppers.
