Two brothers from Staten Island, Tony and Andre Lufty, took over this Lake Worth space and had the good sense to expand into the great outdoors, digging up the old dirt side yard, laying pavers for a candlelit patio, and in the process making the Cottage the biggest draw in the area. Sit outside, jawing with your friendly fellow patrons, for as long as it takes to consume half a dozen inexpensive small plates and fusion cocktails. Ginger mint lemonade with citrus vodka makes a perfect foil for a plate of ground sirloin sliders tarted up with grilled onion and chive jack cheese. “Beggars pouches” sauce pear and gouda-stuffed pastas in oodles of butter sprinkled with sautéed garlic, pine nuts, and fresh basil. The food and the infused cocktails are terrific, and the patrons are likely to break into spontaneous song – but be warned, it might just be an aria from Rigoletto. Jazz brunch on Sunday.
