Canadian electro duo AutoErotique
have remained somewhat under theradar since first appearing in the
scene in 2007, when they were known as VNDLSM. Stylistic
consonant-welding doppelgangers of fellow Canucks MSTRKRFT, they boast
a similar punk rock attitude, abrasive electro sound, and a penchant
for giving cheesy pop vocalists a hardcore makeover.
They're best known for remixing Rhianna's "Umbrella", Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman," and more recently Beyonce's "Uh Oh," reinventing these unseemly pop diva nuggets as surprisingly banging and jacked-up big-room rockers. Check them out this Friday, January 16th along with Damaged Goods and Troy Kurtz at Heathrow Lounge in the Beach, where, according to their promoter, they intend to break your neat little party habits, exceed expectations, and get down and dirty.
Saturday, January 16. Heathrow Lounge, 681 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Ages 21+ with ID. 305-534-7614, www.heathrowlounge.com.
