Ask any self-respecting punk rock fan to list his or her top 10 punk bands, and Bad Brains will almost certainly be toward the top. These hardcore punk rock pioneers began playing together as a jazz band with a rough edge and a hint of reggae way back in 1975.

Two years later, their sound got a little less jazzy and a whole lot

more punk without losing the musical complexity that eludes so many

punk bands. This change in sound quickly garnered the band a rabid cult

following which continues to this day.

Bad Brains plays City Limits on Friday March 6th at 8 pm. Tickets are $25 and go on sale Wednesday, February 11th at 10 am.
