There's something about Juana, apparently. Whoever she is, the namesake of Miami's Locos por Juana ("Crazy About Jane'') has inspired one spiced-up fusion of Latin-style music. The band is pure Miami Biscayne Boulevard, baby taking everything from salsa, reggae, dub, and hip-hop and spinning it into a rhythmic party mix. On their latest disc, Música P'al Pueblo, the loco ones prove their worth musically and lyrically; you can dance and think to these tunes. Got your thinking cap on? Check out "Colombia," which poignantly reflects on that country's social problems. Or, if you just wanna dance, throw on "She's the Devil," a hybrid of '70s funk and salsa rhythms. Better yet, put down your iPod and check out the band live. ¡Muy loco!
