After the one-two punch of "Hey Ya!" and "I Like the Way You Move," Outkast proved its universal appeal by sealing the deal with an Album of the Year award at this year's Grammys for the bipolar double set Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. In the last year, Outkast's dynamic duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi has been more widespread than a herpes outbreak, reaching millions and garnering universal praise. The more crunktastic of the two, Big Boi did the Speakerboxxx portion, which presented the rapper/producer's trademark, scat-fueled rap delivery with bouncy, bass-heavy bravado that was the party record to 3000's futuristic love manifesto. Still, the double album seems to some the nail in the coffin for Outkast and proof that the duo is more inclined to go solo than work together again. Don't worry -- Big Boi didn't eat Andre 3000, but he is appearing solo at Florida Atlantic University (777 Glades Rd., Boca Raton) for the annual Spring Fling at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7. Tickets cost $25, $15 for FAU students. Call 561-297-3000. --
