West Palm Beach has been missing something in the way of music. There hasn't been a time or place for younger indie acts that are too big for Respectable Street but not quite regular headliners, to plug in their amps in our town. But then the gods heard our prayers, and yesterday, lo and behold, the Coastline Festival was announced. This one-day event has a sweet lineup of indie acts you might actually want to see. The real good news? You don't even have to drive down to Fort Lauderdale to catch 'em.
The fest will fill up Cruzan Amphitheatre on Sunday, November 10, as well as the Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa the day prior. Bands on the bill include, but are not limited to, 2012 SunFest standouts Passion Pit, emerging acts like Fitz & The Tantrums, and even local heroes Surfer Blood. But what guarantees that the Coastline Festival will be not only badass but kickass is that they are going above and beyond, labeling the event "a musiculinary experience." The fest is promising to deliver big on eats and drinks, as well as sound.
Food Trucktopia will be a taste-bud paradise with tons of mobile eateries vying for your chewing pleasure. You've paid $10 for a hot dog at a concert before, so this culinary upgrade is much appreciated.
Beer lovers, will dip into the Craft Beer Cove which will serve at least 25 different bevs with a heavy emphasis on Florida breweries; just they way we like it.
The fourth component of the one-day fest is the Isle of Art -- a designated display area for local artists to show off their creations and help turn the Coastline Festival into an even more intense multi-sensory affair.
All we've got to say is: Bring it on Coastline, we're ready for you!
