The gentlemen in Sunday Driver, though I've never personally met them, are mountain men. Oh yes -- they've cohabitated in a mountainous terrain, 45 minutes from any semblance of civilization. While recording their debut album, A Letter to Branson City, the dudes set up shop in a cabin on top of a mountain in North Carolina to escape the Miami hustle. When you eyeball the tour miles these guys have racked up over the past year, you'll kick yourself for being so freaking lazy (unless you're a type-A personality, but I don't think your kind reads New Times). Plus, they've toured with a who's who of up-and-coming rock bands, everyone from the Letters Organize and Schatzie to the Enablers. Competent people like these make me sick, with their little Post-it notes everywhere and eye-on-the-prize agendas. They actually get shit done, and I hate it. Come to think of it, I'm going to tell them all about it at the show this Saturday. I hope they want to fight... freakin' jerks.
