4. Synesthesia

Synesthesia is a condition where senses get intertwined, like when you start hearing colors or seeing sounds. It's also the name of Unity 88's second ever monthly art show this Saturday night. This event is sure to utilize and confuse all five of your senses. The the theme this month is "the Love of Music" and it includes an infusion of food from El Guanacuo, live music, and art -- all local, of course. Joshua Tikitin, Ryan J Huseman, and Living Strange will bring the music and participating artists include K-lee Art, Cory Marcotte, and Matthew Grommet.

3. Flavor of the Week: 3rd Eye Open Edition

Do your lungs a favor and stop smoking and start vaping. Who knows what these nicotine vessels do to your body, you're saving at least one major organ. You can get into the whole process at the Vape Queen this Saturday at a party that includes live music by Cam and DMT, vape tasting, and live art by Ian Baca and Indigo Child. The event is free and there will be $1 raffle tickets; the proceeds go to the artists. Word on the street is that the vape flavor of this week is peanut butter cookie. We want a full report on that.

Calling all those with August birthdays! Monthly Tea Dance plans to celebrate the day of arrival on this planet for Leos and Virgos with plenty of drag queen fun. Amanda Austin hosts this b-day bash that includes special guests Franchesque Richards, Deja Devonier, Kyla McCray-Taylor and the sounds of DJ Silvio. Guzzle down $3 drinks, but careful, no one wants to be seen with a waste case. This is a classy event, OK?
