Beer-sponsored revelry is possible and somewhat palatable, judging by the Hold Steady extravaganza in Miami earlier this year. Now, party-rock prince Andrew W.K., who inspires adjectives far more interesting than interesting, will host an event dubiously titled the "Most Interesting Show in the World." (No word if Mr. Interesting himself will make the trip, but we hear that he tastes his own food for poisons and drives a car with his mind and kills flies by telling them their deepest fears...)
This website will give you a clue to what's going on.
Anyhow, Wednesday's free event at Revolution is fixing to be a chance to drink some free beer from the sponsor and watch a lot of things almost as gonzo as Andrew W.K.'s live spectacle.
Other performers include HungarianDid we already mention that this is a free event with free beer? Wear white.illusionist Elliott Zimmet, world record holder the Great Merlini, the
visually spectacular Bubble Man and a dream team of other extreme and
interesting acts including Andrew W.K.'s longtime band member and
beautiful wife, Cherie Lily. Cherie, the creator of houserobics, will
bring a touch of eroticism and excitement, combining her exotic stage
show with her dance floor anthems.
Andrew W.K. 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. 21 and up, no cover. Get a ticket here.
