Okay, we all know and understand that your in-boxes, Facebook message centers, fax machines, pagers, texts, and mailboxes have been flooded with information as to how help our brothers and sisters in Haiti following the devastating earthquake last week. So let's be honest, is there really too much relief aid? I didn't think so. Tomorrow night, Wednesday, January 20, the Vagabond will be hosting a benefit show featuring the awesome stylings of Afrobeta, the smooth rock of the Hongs, the troubadour ramblings of Cleaveland Jones and the sultry sirens of the State Of. Of course there will also be a slew of DJs like the Haitian Hillbilly (how appropriate), Ray Milian, Carmel Ophir, Ryan Evans, Run Sevim Run, Heather Holiday, WVUM's Laura of Miami, and Mister Drake.

Partnered with Little Haiti's Notre Dame d'Haiti Church, The Vagabond will be a central drop-off location for desperately needed essential goods such as diapers, blankets, clothing, water, hygienic supplies, and canned goods with pull tabs. These can be dropped off during club hours (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) tomorrow night. There will be a $5 "suggested" donation to enter, but I'm telling you right now, you better can the SoBe attitude and make the donation -- shit, give more, you have a roof over your head and running water.

All of the door money will go to Médicins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), a long-running humanitarian organization specializing in aiding people threatened by violence, neglect, catastrophes, armed conflicts, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, and natural disasters. This is a good cause. You'll feel better about yourself and you will actually make a difference.
