You may remember the Heineken TransAtlantic Festival. It came through last year? A whole bevy of top-shelf world music talent graced our fair shores. CuCu Diamantes participated, sharing her dulcet, neo-Cuban-cabaret-era-spliced-with-urban-NYC vibe. Quirky Mexican NuJazz songstress Ximena Sariñana also played a gig, and our own Rachel Goodrich opened. If you don't remember, perhaps you had one too many of the sponsor's wares.

In any case, the Heine festival is back again at the North Beach Bandshell this year. It'll be kicking off in early April, and the lineup has just been announced. April 9 will feature Bomba Estero and Orquestra Contemporanea de Olinda. April 24 has Vieux Farka Toure and Locos Por Juana on the lineup.

More on these shows to come. Meanwhile, check out the festival's site.
