Hot Tuna is one of those amazing legendary acts whose list of past members now dwarfs its list of current members by more than fourfold. Of course, that's not surprising — the act that originally began as a Jefferson Airplane spinoff has now been going on and off for more than 40 years. Still, despite the endless comings and goings of razor-sharp players, the steady backbone has been founding members Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen. Under their watch, the band has continued its original project of jamming through both electric and acoustic takes on the blues, with improvisation and surprises a staple of every show. Unsurprisingly, Hot Tuna has always been a favorite of the concert taping community, which the band has in turn happily embraced. This means a dizzying array of bootlegs in the Hot Tunaverse, alongside the more than 25 entries in the band's jaw-dropping "official" discography.
