In Print: Lady Gaga, the Radiators, & More
Perhaps you've heard of Lady Gaga. And it shouldn't be surprising that she's coming to South Florida for a pair of shows (one in Sunrise, one in Miami) likely to draw a cross-section of big and little monsters.
But what is less known is her history down here prior to the whole international stardom thing. Brandon K. Thorp did some research into the days when people still sometimes called her Stefani Germanotta, and she was hitting Wilton Manors, a small community in Fort Lauderdale, looking for gigs. Thorp got some deets on where she had some luck, and traces how things grew in the years since then. This was only 2008! Tomorrow, we'll unveil some very funny, dated photos from that era.
Following up a story about beginnings is the farewell of a New Orleans institution, the Radiators. The original lineup is saying goodbye with two dates at Revolution.
In other spell-binding news, these concerts will roll through South Florida in the coming week: Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks at Kravis Center, Easy Star All-Stars at Culture Room, Gene Loves Jezebel at Respectable Street, Accept at Culture Room, and Jerry Garcia Band at Revolution.
