Lest you forget, Bennigan's is ostensibly an Irish pub, so it's fitting that the schlocky chain restaurant should don its tam and go for gold on the most Irish of holidays. Actually, it's more the dedicated drinkers of the group Kocosante who are responsible for putting together one of Broward's rowdiest, rockin'-est St. Pat's parties. For the third year in a row, the band and Bennigan's will host a slew of local acts on a stage built in its parking lot as a DJ spins dance tracks to the folks taking refuge inside. Revelers -- more than 1,000 are expected -- can shake their shalalees to Meg Myers, the Breeze, Soul Switch, Kocosante, Feeling Numb, and Side Project. The green beer will flow indoors and out, as will Irish fare like corned beef and cabbage and bangers and mash. If you're looking to put some real rock in your shamrock, this is the place.

Kocosante, along with five other bands and a DJ, play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Bennigan's, 3499 N. University Dr., Sunrise. Tickets cost $5 at the door. Call 954-748-3991.
