Want County Grind to write about your band? One method is simply to walk right up to your unassuming Broward-Palm Beach music editor and demand it. In the case of West Palm Beach electronic-funk collective Shit Ton of Funk, this is a bit of a delayed response. After enjoying STOF's Propaganda Live release, available for free download here, last month but not giving it any shine on the blog, it's time to set things right before these guys beat the crap out of me.

Shit Ton of Funk has just released The Epiphanifical Motifalifical Piff, which the band calls "An EP of Motif collaborations of West Palm Beach artists created in four long nights." The guys are especially stoked on the song "Brobrah Nation," which finds that late-night vibe echoed in ?uestlove-style snare taps and Air-inspired ambience. Elsewhere, the EP delves into more dub-fueled synthesizer mischief that is a far cry from Shit Ton of Funk's high-rolling, funkasaurus live show as exhibited at this past weekend's Respectable Street 23rd Anniversary show.
