Lake Worth rock singer/songwriter John Ralston recently released Shadows of the Summertime, a rich collection of radiant songs that he hopes will find its way into the ears of skateboarders and surfers everywhere.

We announced yesterday that Ralston is one of the featured acts playing the New Times stage at the Green Room on May 6 as part of the SW 3rd Ave Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale.

Not content to let Shadows speak expressly for his creative leanings of late, he has taken to his Bandcamp page to occasionally release songs for an album titled Wildlands -- official release date unknown.

So far, the three acoustic tracks that have popped up give off a darker, more introspective feeling than the upbeat alt-country tracks that color the rest of his recent output.

All are available for free download here. For additional Ralston ruminations, follow his Tumblr blog.
