Harry Wayne Casey, Miami musician extraordinaire and frontman of legendary disco outfit KC & the Sunshine Band, was none too pleased with New Times when we suggested that the "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" artist bore a striking resemblance to Rush Limbaugh in 2009. Of course, he didn't say anything until 2011, when he called former New Times staff writer Gus Garcia-Roberts a "punk writer" in an email. But that was 15 months ago; bygones are bygones. In fact, we're really stoked about Rush's... er, KC's upcoming gig at Hard Rock Live on Saturday. We're also totally digging the Sunshine Band's latest tune, "I Can't Get You Out of My Mind," a collaborative track with electro dance duo Bimbo Jones. "Lyrically, this is the best I have ever done," KC said on his website. "And musically, the different collaborations have brought new styles and variety to this project. It's provided a new excitement for the classics that influenced me and a renewed energy to the dance music which I started 40 years ago." Long live KC & the Sunshine Band.
