Although he was not known for his singing, as is painfully and hilariously obvious in this clip from The Naked Gun (thanks, ArtsBeat), his thunderous (and Emmy-nominated) voice-overs were their own kind of faux-earnest music.

On this day, we single out a beautiful, tender song from Nielsen's 1983 film Naked Space: The Creature Wasn't Nice. As the strains of "I Want to Eat Your Face" play, remember a silver-haired master of deadpan humor.
