It's easy just to think of Electric Pickle as the home of Poplife and various underground techno and house events. But besides Champion Sounds Wednesdays, which focuses heavily on hip-hop, soul, and funk, there's another night that veers from the usual four-to-the-floor program: Stop Drop N' Roll Thursdays. In fact it veers far off -- the night is all about the roots of rock, with a slightly rockabilly flair and a similarly minded live band almost every week.

It's frustratingly hard to get a list of upcoming acts since Electric Pickle still doesn't have a web site. (The club has a Facebook page, but still lists info for its New Year's party.) However, if you're looking for something low key to do tonight, Boca's Stonefox takes the stage. Well, their live show is anything but low-key, but the rest of the night is no hassle. Cover is free, drink specials are promised, and there's always tons of free parking.

Stonefox, at Stop Drop 'n Roll Thursdays. With DJs Gran Torino, Lliam, and the Haitian Hillbilly. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami. Doors open at 9 p.m., admission is free. Ages 21+ with ID. 305-456-5613.
