Before Marilyn Manson was making parents nervous and teenage closets darker, we was a skinny goth kid going to Broward Community College, playing scary music in dark Broward County dive bars with his Fort Lauderdale band Spooky Kids. Soon, his band would change its name, sign with Trent Reznor's new label Nothing Records, and penetrate TVs all over the nation.

Since then, the androgynous rocker has gone on to enjoy a career full of contradictions. But whether he was being lauded by critics, scolded by critics, or blamed for school shootings, Manson's artistic vision never changed.

Manson recently released his ninth studio album The Pale Emperor in January. The album is a notable departure from Manson's traditional style, but has received praise from critics. Manson's new sound has a bluesy edge to it, but will still wake up the neighbors. Rolling Stone called it "his best, most twisted alt-rock party in years."

This week Marilyn Manson announced The End Times tour with co-headliners The Smashing Pumpkins. The tour will kick off July 7 in Concord, California. Manson will share the stage with The Smashing Pumpkins, whose latest album, Monuments to an Elegy, was released last December.

The tour will have 23 dates, and two of them are in South Florida. Unfortunately, none of them are in Broward, Manson's old stomping ground. On July 22, Marilyn Manson and The Smashing Pumpkins will come to Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in Miami. And two days later, on July 24, the tour will stop in Tampa at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

Tickets for the Miami show go on sale Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $75.25 to $85.25 plus fees. The Bayfront Park Amphitheatre show starts at 7 p.m. Visit for more info.
