Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (the Rascals) are the Last Shadow Puppets. The duo’s debut LP, The Age of Understatement, releases in the US on May 6. Check out the video for the title track and first single, here.

Business Time

The writers’ strike may push HBO’s Flight of the Conchords to 2009, but the Kiwi duo’s self-titled full length drops on April 22 via Sub Pop. From the tracklisting , the album is basically a rehash of season one. Grab a sample below, thanks to Spinner.

Au Naturale

Handsome Boy producer Dan the Automator is teaming up with Russell Simmins (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Butter 08) for Men Without Pants. The duo’s debut, Naturally, is due sometime this summer and will include guest appearances from Cibo Matto, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Sean Lennon. Stream a few songs via MySpace.
