Pitbull is Coming to Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale for Hits 97.3 Sessions

Hate him or tolerate him, Pitbull represents South Florida. Or he at least depicts a corrupted stereotype of our collective counties. When he burst like a boil onto mainstream music he proudly rocked Miami-Dade's area code as Mr. 305.

Mr. 305 now prefers Mr. Worldwide but he nonetheless puts on for his city whether we like it or not.

And now Mr. 305 is coming to the 954 with some help from HITS 97.3. And if you add up all those numbers you get 1,346.3, which is probably the amount of times Pitbull says "dale" to himself in the mirror while shaving his head.

Anyway, HITS 97.3 FM and Revolution Live are welcoming Mr. Worldwide back to Fort Lauderdale for Pitbull’s very own HITS Sessions (aptly named the PITS Sessions).

HITS Sessions are live performance/interviews with famous musicians broadcast by HITS 97.3. Artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, David Guetta, Flo Rida, and Tove Lo have all gotten on stage with DJ Laz — a.k.a. “The Pimp with the Limp,” a.k.a. Not DJ Khaled — at Fort Lauderdale venues like Revolution Live and Stache.

Normal folk can't buy tickets to these events, but you can “win” tickets by registering some contact info here. We can neither confirm nor deny that Pitbull will use your personal information to steal your HBO Go password.

Past HITS Sessions have given fans intimate performances of artists that they might have only ever seen in a stadium. And for free. Those who win tickets should consider themselves lucky, especially because HITS Sessions can often — maybe unintentionally — get a little weird.

Check out David Guetta’s impossibly awkward show below. The spotlight couldn’t even contain all the discomfort on stage. A seated Guetta answered random questions while playing a playlist from his laptop on a bedside table. Laz spent most of the show trying to alpha male the slack-bodied Frenchman with taunts and odd mockeries atop suggestions that woman want to be called bitches as long as you say it right.

Meanwhile the crowd had as much latent energy as microwaved peanut butter. It was truly a bizarre affair. If Pitbull's show is anything like Guetta’s it will be worth well more than free.
HITS Sessions with Pitbull. 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Revolution Live, 100 SW 3rd Ave, Fort Lauderdale. Enter to win tickets at
