When was the last time you went to church? Whenever it was, we're going to guess psychedelic stagecraft wasn't a big part of the spiritual production.
Maybe the church crowd isn't really your scene, but if you love great music, great vibes, and great spectacles, Shpongle live might be the religious experience your sorry soul's been waiting for.
See Shpongle once, and you're a fan for life. As one half of the English duo once said, Shpongle is a fun and funny word meaning "feeling positive" or "euphoric emotions." Shpongle is seasoned, blowing minds with its special blend of world and extraterrestrial music since 1996. If you're hungry for a taste of what's to come, check out Shpongle's breathtaking LPs Museum of Consciousness or The God Particle. The duo boasts a body of work as expansive and impressive as its live productions.
But honestly, you don't even have to be familiar with the duo's shamanistic, inter-dimensional, genre-fusing beats. In fact, Shpongle's music is best enjoyed as part of its live experience. Each performance is truly a mind-melting journey that just might change your musical perspective for the rest of your days.
The project is once again hitting the road, this time paired with the equally funky and ethereal Phutureprimitive and armed with the eye-catching Shpongletron 3.1. Covered in the highest-quality LEDs, lasers, and all manner of glowing gadgetry, the Shpongletron is the closest thing to a living, breathing, shape-shifting production booth the world has ever seen. In a word, the Sphongletron is huge. It's likely to take up the whole Revolution Live stage, resulting in a once-in-a-lifetime performance that's sure to be as transformative as it is invasive.
Suffice it to say, no one will leave a Shpongle show unimpressed or unmoved. The name literally means to have a good time, so the question is, are you ready to be Shpongled?
Shpongle with Phutureprimitive, Friday, Feb. 27, at Revolution Live, 100 SW 3 Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Ages 18 and up. The show starts at 8:30 p.m., and tickets cost $33.25 plus fees via ticketmaster.com. Call 954-449-1025 or visit jointherevolution.net.
