Sunday School for the Generous: A Fundraiser for Haiti at the Electric Pickle January 17
By now you've heard of the multitude of ways you can provide much needed aid to devastated Haiti. Maybe you've tweeted, texted, or donated supplies or blood. But this Sunday it's time to get together with some of the most generous degenerates in town and dance.
The Electric Pickle and Musical Missionary have assembled an impressive team of talent to bring you Sunday School for the Generous. "This was the easiest event to put together," says event volunteer Scott Ziegler. "I couldn't believe how many people wanted to be a part of this."
As soon as word got out, the lineup instantaneously expanded with those sharing the common goal of turning music into aid. Recent additions include Miami's own Oscar G and Stryke who are both flying back just in time to spin at the event. The announced talent also includes, A-train, Edwin Adams, Jason Baez, Lazaro Casanova, Conway, Inbal, Joaquin, Lumin, Will Renuart, Riotgear, Sebastian, Sire Esq,. Omar Suardy, and Tomas. By the time Sunday rolls around, there will likely be even more additions to the already telethon-like lineup.
They'll be doing it BBQ-style, with food and tunes available in the backyard. Count on a taste of all types of music starting in the afternoon, and expect it to go until the early morning hours. (Hey, Monday is a holiday, remember?) A $10 donation gets you into the party, and 100 percent of the proceeds collected at the door will go to Haitian relief efforts. Also, look out for all-day drink specials with a portion of bar sales contributing to the philanthropic fund.
Sunday School for the Generous. Sunday, January 17. The party starts at 4 p.m. The Electric Pickle. 2826 North Miami Avenue, Miami. 305-456-5613.
