Tech N9ne and Machine Gun Kelly Bring the Noise for the Hostile Takeover 2012 Tour
Tech N9ne, the Kansas City native who heads up the Strange Music record label, and Cleveland wild boy Machine Gun Kelly joined forces to bring the "Hostile Takeover Tour 2012" around the country and also to Club Cinema on Tuesday, June 26.
The notoriously out-of-control duo are attempting an aggressive touring schedule, performing over 90 live shows in just 99 days. According to a press release: "The 'Hostile Takeover 2012' tour will be the longest consecutive tour in rap history," and is the only ways fans will see Tech N9ne's over-the-top live show this year. The tour kicked off in March in Tech's hometown, slowly making it's way across the country and to South Florida, "rapping" up in early July.
Tech N9ne, born Aaron Yates, has been a constant in the hip-hop community since the early aughts, selling out venues, and performing over 200 live shows early in his rise to the top. In 2011, Tech N9ne released All 6's & 7's , his twelfth studio album which debuted at number one on Billboard's independent hip-hop/R&B charts, and number four on the overall top 200.
His label Strange Music boasts a hefty roster of recording artists like Stevie Stone and Florida-born act MAYDAY !. Tech brings an unbelievable amount of energy and finess to his performances and has been endorsed by other hip-hop heavyweights like Lil Wayne -- the two worked together on The Carter IV which sold nearly one million copies in its first week out -- and Busta Rhymes. This has only helped the artist to captivate audiences and dazzle crowds worldwide.
Machine Gun Kelly, the reckless father of the "Lace Up" movement, will join the Hostile Takeover lineup until July. His performance at Revolution in January left the smell and feel of teen spirit lingering in the air (read about it here ).
MGK, named "Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2011" by MTV, was signed by Bad Boy/Interscope after his series of mixtapes finally caught the fire of the major record label. Controversy seems to follow this kid wherever he goes. But, what do you expect, he was born in 1990, for fuck's sake. He'll likely bring some of that bad ass action back to our neck of the woods next week.
The Hostile Takeover 2012 Tour, at 7 p.m. on June 26 at Club Cinema in Pompano Beach, 18 and older. Click here for tickets.
