ASG stands for "amplification of self-gratification," and the thought of that conjures up all kinds of exciting and potentially destructive thoughts -- which is suitable for these guys, who are Iron Maiden status-heavy but a little easier on the ears. Think Split-era Groundhogs. In a word, they are (the overused-but-necessary) epic.

Remain Calm is slick, shouting, metally punk; the Hard Richards -- surfy dub. Both of them are from Boynton Beach, which is apparently conducive to this kind of thrash. ASG -- heading deeper into the dirty south from their hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina -- alone will blow up the spot. Be ready to get sloppy.

ASG, Remain Calm, and the Hard Richards. 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Propaganda, 6 S. J St., Lake Worth.  18 and up. $8 cover for 21 and up, $15 for 18-20. Call 561-547-7273, or visit propagandalw.com.
