Weekend Playlist: New York's Finest

Weekend Playlist: New York's Finest
Henri Silberman

This week, we pay homage to what is often referred to as the golden era of hip-hop. In the '90s, there was a well of young musicians who spoke about relevant, pertinent issues. Conscientious, informed, and honest, they painted vivid images of what life in New York was like in that seemingly forgotten era.

If you are old enough to have enjoyed that time in hip-hop, revisit it with us. If you are too young to have seen it firsthand, take the time and get familiar with some of the best songs of the genre. And if you don't know, you better ask somebody.

We invite you to visit out official 8tracks.com page. Feel free to make your own account and follow us -- we like that kind of stuff.
