Hipster dance music trends may come and go, but BBC uber-DJ Annie Mac is always one step ahead of them all. Definitely the fiercest female on Radio One, her eponymous Friday-night show, with its trademark guest mini-mixes, give you an up to date who's-who in the scene. (Recent editions have included contributions from long-established stars like A-Trak and Calvin Harris, as well as up-and-comers like Riva Starr and We Have Band.) photo by Mari Sarai
Her series of international Annie Mac Presents.... parties have become the real-life version of the show, with longer DJ sets, of course, but similarly carefully curated line-ups. The party comes to WMC again this year, with a Friday-night gig at White Room. (Unlike the past couple WMC Fridays at White Room, though, this one costs money to get in). Mac herself also has a couple other gigs booked during Conference. Details below.
