Capellini Election Prospects Looking Dim
This may come as a surprise to those who rely on the Deerfield Beach Dispatch for all their news, but the city's ex-mayor will not be cleared, as that paper predicted in a front-page headline last month.
At least, not yet. A Broward judge
denied Al Capellini's motion to dismiss did not dismiss the case, but continued it to early April. So now the mayoral candidate will have to try to lug the felony corruption charge to the polls, which open Tuesday. Unless I'm severely underestimating his ability to hypnotize Deerfield Beach voters, this is the coup de grace for Capellini's political career.
