A Baltimore Raven defense led by two former University of Miami stars, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, thrashed our spunky Dolphins yesterday, 27-9.

I could've sworn the Ravens were playing with 14 men on defense, but I'll have to go back to the tape to make sure. At any rate, those blitz packages seemed to always put pressure on Dolphins QB Chad Pennington, whose strategy of throwing into double coverage was curious, at best. Suicidal at worst.

But put down that chalkboard, you Monday morning quarterbacks. According to a source close to the team, the difference in this game was simple: God is a Baltimore Raven. Take it away, Ray:

If you watched till the end, you saw some classy remarks from Ed Reed, who congratulates the Dolphins on exceeding everyone's expectations. That, a young nucleus, plus the return of Bill Parcells, means there's a reason to watch pro football in South Florida next fall. Now if we could just convince the ole G-O-D that He looks better in turquoise...
