Delray Beach Woman Wins First Wheelchair Tennis Title
That's a video from the Paralympic Games of wheelchair tennis, which has its own league within the United States Tennis Association. Last weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jan Proctor of Delray Beach won her first tournament after four years on the circuit. She's 56 years old and beat a 38-year-old friend in the finals. She also won the doubles championship.
According to the Grand Rapids Free Press, Proctor "played competitive tennis for 22 years before being struck by a car and breaking her leg, then developing cancer in that leg."
