Dolphins Dope/Center Mike Pouncey Undergoes Hip Surgery, Now Out Three Months

Late yesterday afternoon, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Miami Dolphins dope with hugely questionable judgment center Mike Pouncey underwent hip surgery and would be out at least three months.

It came as a jarring gut punch given that the injury now ensures five new starters will make up next year's offensive line, and despite Schefter's initial report, it really could end up worse.

Since training camp hasn't opened, Pouncey will be eligible to open camp on the active/PUP list, something that would cost him the first six games. It's not out of the question -- the Dolphins bye comes in week four, so he'd end up missing the first five games anyway.

All of which led to -- of course -- a mix of anger and defeated sadness from Fins fans.

Local sports radio host Marc Hochman even captured Pouncey at the Aventura Food Court on Sunday, the day before his surgery and perhaps his last meal before he underwent the knife.

Schefter, for his part, had more good news for Miami fans after they erupted over Pouncey:

And finally, just for a good giggle while you wait for the Miami Hurricanes' season to start, check out these two Pouncey videos from 2013 where he talks about wanting to be the face of the Dolphins franchise, the responsibilities of it, all while sitting in front of a framed Aaron Hernandez jersey in his house.
