Roxanna Trinka is President/CEO of a company called Baseline Engineering. She's also a Director of the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, an advisor to the school's College of Engineering, and served on Palm Beach County's Criminal Justice Commission.

It's a free country. So there's no reason Trinka shouldn't be free to believe what she believes and say what she says. And since she's a public figure with some influence there's no reason we shouldn't report it. Especially since she blabs it all over Facebook.

Here's a little joke Trinka "liked" on her page June 5:

The Iranian Ambassador to the UN had just finished giving a speech and walked out into the lobby of the convention center where he was introduced to a U.S. Marine General. As they talked, the Iranian said, "I have just one question about what I have seen in America." The General said, "Go ahead." The Iranian whispered, "My son watches this show called Star Trek and in it there is... Kirk who is Canadian, Chekhov who is Russian, Scotty who is Scottish, Uhura who is black, and Sulu who is Japanese, but there are no Muslims. My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any Iranians, Iraqis, Afghans, Egyptians, Palestinians, Saudis, Syrians, or Pakistanis on Star Trek." The General laughed, leaned toward the Iranian Ambassador, and whispered in his ear, "That's because it takes place in the future..."

Get it!? All them mooslims gonna be dead LOL!

Well, maybe it isn't all that funny. Maybe Trinka would like to run it by the good folks in Dubai at HDG Mansur, who own the primary developer and operator of the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, which has an estimated $300 million annual impact on the local economy, and on whose board of directors Trinka sits. See if they get a kick out of it.

Or maybe she can share it with another of the Research Park's partners, FAU's College of Engineering and Computer Science, a significant number of whose faculty and students are from Muslim backgrounds, and on whose Executive Advisory Council she also sits.

She might also share with them the analysis she posted June 5, "Why muslims [sic] do what they do" (it has something to do with restoration of the Caliphate), which Trinka passed along from a friend at Bikers Against Islamic Terrorism. Good source!

Even if they don't get the joke, those partners may be able to allay Trinka's fears about the imposition of Shari'ah law in the U.S., which greatly concerns her. According to her post of April 5, 2011, "Coming soon to a neighborhood near you. A FL judge already ruled in favor of Sharia Law in a Civil Case. (Tampa) Don't think it will stop there."

HDG Mansur is especially well-placed to address that concern since, according to their website, they have "become a market leader in the creation and operation of Shari'ah-compliant real estate investment products and programmes...organized in compliance with Islamic law." Oops.

Naturally, Trinka links the impending Muslim takeover to the First Muslim himself. According to her post of June 3, the "Obama Administration Paves the Way for Sharia Law." Not only that, "The Kenyan" (as a post of June 7 refers to him) has created a world in which "communism is patriotism" (post of June 6).

On May 15 Trinka commented that "[Obama] and his minions all need to be tried and imprisoned for Treason" because "He is inherently evil" as are "Hillary and the rest of them." That post includes handy-dandy side-by-side pics of Obama and Satan, and the resemblance is remarkable. Q.E.D.

(Don't expect GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner to ride to the rescue. According to another Trinka post of June 7, "Spineless Boehner" has either been bought off or "threatened by [Obama] and his Chicago syndicate.")

The most bizarre of Trinka's posts is a late March lift from the Canada Free Press, a wingnut publication with a taste for pseudoscience. A gooey morass of homophobic paranoia, it's a screed too rich not to quote in full:

What we are seeing today in the fight for "equal rights" by homosexual activists is the culmination of an agenda that was set in motion more than a half-century ago. Before you can fully understand and appreciate what is taking place today, you must first understand that you are being lied to, hoodwinked and manipulated into the erroneous belief that the issue is about "civil rights" or "equal rights." It's not. It's a deliberate perversion of the moral integrity of our society to advance a much larger and more nefarious agenda.

The Progressive homosexual agenda is a tool of those who are seeking the destruction of America. The activists hypnotized by the illusion of equal rights are nothing more than pawns duped into believing they are fighting for tolerance and inclusion, while the end game scenario leaves no room at the proverbial table for them. What is taking place today is the systematic destruction of a nation from within, and is insidious in nature and effectiveness by its simplicity. It is a tactic that uses the pretext of tolerance to break down our cultural standards of morality. You might be surprised to learn that presenting homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy" was identified as one of the goals of the Communist agenda for the takeover of America as read into the United States Congressional record on January 10, 1963 by Rep. A. S. Herlong of Florida. Of course, the mere mention of such an inconvenient truth will earn you the title of conspiracy nut within the corporate media.

Far be it from us to label Trinka a "conspiracy nut." With an authority like Cleon Skousen (the source of segregationist Rep. A. S. Herlong's wisdom) on her side, who would dare?

Let's be clear: People are not one-dimensional. Trinka appears to have done fine things in her time. She's an 11-year breast cancer survivor who does support for breast cancer victims. In addition to her time on the county's Criminal Justice Commission she's run for Boca Raton City Council. Her career in public and civic service probably includes much of worth.

But good people can hold deluded, hateful beliefs. Trinka should not spew ignorance and fear so freely, especially if she plans to ever run for public office again or if she's going to represent the interests of the community at large -- Muslims and gays included.

UPDATE: At 10:37 this morning, Trinka emailed New Times this response: "The last time I checked, I had a First Amendment right." Shortly afterwards, she posted on her Facebook page that to "impose Sharia ... is the plan of ISLAM in the west."
